Attitude is Elective

"Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!" (Psalm 139:23-24).

Wanna hear a scary reality? Only God knows the true intent of the heart.

When we first accept Christ as our Savior, we change. The desire to walk in purposeful sin decreases, our thoughts become less chaotic, and our entire being longs to draw closer to Jesus. We are operating in God’s love, and life becomes more about His character working through us and less about the world around us...but...

Throughout the Bible, we read accounts of how people like Adam and Eve, Jonah, David, Martha, even Peter, let their eyes stray from The Truth, and suddenly, the weight of the world and the desires of their heart settled on their shoulders.

Sound familiar?

In this Sunday's message, "Attitude is Elective," I will share biblical insights on how we can - on purpose - take our thoughts captive (2 Corinthians 10:5), rewire negative brain ruts (Romans 8:5-6), and adjust unhealthy thinking patterns (Hebrews 4:12 & Romans 12:1-2) in an effort to be more in tune with Jesus.
