Praise the Lord! No! Wait!

Image
Have you ever noticed how David was continuously praising God?  When he wasn't complaining I mean.  David the shepherd king had a lot of songs in his heart. Some were joyful while others were intermingled with sin, sorrow and shame - lets be real here - there was some real Maury Povich stuff like:  "And David you ARE the father!"   But...somehow, and maybe only He knows why, David was a man after God's own heart! How's that even possible?  The answer is in today's verse. David knew that he could not escape God's love. That no matter how bad his flesh acted out - and it did act out - God's love for him never waivered. So how did David know that God's mercy, grace, and goodness was his forever? Only through relationship.  Just like David, we have to be honest with God ( Psalm 51 ) and ask Him to search our heart ( Psalm 139:23 ).  Even when life threw fiery dart after fiery dart, somehow David continued in relationship with God. Can we? How can we c...

Born Again

Image
Have you ever wondered - like Nicodemus  did - how a man/woman can be born again? When Nicodemus asked Jesus how something like this is possible, Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit," ( John 3:4-5 ).  To be born of water can refer to a few different things such as our physical birth, being baptized in water, or even by the washing away of sin. To be born of the Spirit refers to the indwelling of The Holy Spirit, "Without which no one will see God."   So, t he first gift of The Holy Spirit is when He comes to live inside us, evicting the old man, and unpacking a suitcase full of heirloom seeds! Seeds that will produce only good fruit ( Galatians 5)! Join us on Sunday as Pastor Dreama concludes the six-part series  "Happiness is Relative, Attitude is Elective: Empowered by The Holy Spirit."  "Keep your fork, the best is yet to come!"

Oh God, Help Me

"Oh God, Help Me." Today's WIN Focus: Seeking Peace There are times when all I can pray is  "Oh God, help me."  I have plenty of needs, worries, and people to pray for, but the words just won't come. These are the days I lean heavily on The Holy Spirit to intercede for me. To transform my moans and groans into fervent prayers our Father understands. You see, it is only through The Holy Spirit that hope, joy, peace, and love can abound even when our soul seems a mess! As God's Spiritual Zion (because we have God's Holy Spirit residing inside) all Christians should have hope that God understands our heart's deepest desires and pleas...so why does our soul get weary? Join us this Sunday as Pastor Dreama shares more on " Happiness is Relative, Attitude is Elective " where we'll study how the fruits of the Holy Spirit operate and how we can, on purpose , draw upon Him to restore a right standing with The Father. Have a blessed rest of th...
