Laboring for the Harvest

Fall 2026 ~ Week 39

Seedtime and harvest is an exciting time in rural America. Harvest balls may be a thing of the past, but that only means more time to celebrate the season in other ways! 

Football games, homecomings, hay rides, pumpkin patch tours, corn mazes, making apple or pumpkin butter the ole fashioned way, bonfires, apple cider, and those wonderful fall scents! Oh how much fun Fall brings into our lives!

The Bible says a lot about seedtime and harvest; some verses are literal while others are referencing a spiritual harvest. 

Wednesday's Inspirational Nugget is the perfect time to quietly reflect on these verses for the WIN!

Galatians 6:9	“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”
2 Corinthians 9:10	“He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.”
Luke 10:2	And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”
John 4:25	“Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest.”
2 Corinthians 9:6	“The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.”
James 3:18	“And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.”
Mark 4:29	“But when the grain is ripe, at once he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.”
