Praise the Lord! No! Wait!

Have you ever noticed how David was continuously praising God? When he wasn't complaining I mean.

David the shepherd king had a lot of songs in his heart. Some were joyful while others were intermingled with sin, sorrow and shame - lets be real here - there was some real Maury Povich stuff like: "And David you ARE the father!"

But...somehow, and maybe only He knows why, David was a man after God's own heart! How's that even possible?

The answer is in today's verse. David knew that he could not escape God's love. That no matter how bad his flesh acted out - and it did act out - God's love for him never waivered. So how did David know that God's mercy, grace, and goodness was his forever? Only through relationship.

Just like David, we have to be honest with God (Psalm 51) and ask Him to search our heart (Psalm 139:23).  Even when life threw fiery dart after fiery dart, somehow David continued in relationship with God. Can we? How can we continue serving God when life is overwhelming?
