IS IT MORNING TIME

"O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch." Psalm 5:3

My three year old grandson, Case, asks the same question after every nap and upon waking up every morning: "Is it morning time?"

I smile when he asks, not just because of how he words it, not just because of his obvious-to-me question, but because of his utter joy at the prospect of being able to get up and start his day.

After reading Priscilla Shirer's book Fervent, I designated my she-shed office as the place for a 15-minute prayer time with God. This morning I had just sat down to start and Case's question popped into my head "Is it morning time?"  It was as if the Holy Spirit was reminding me that this is the time I've set apart to meet with God, to pray, to seek His help for the day ahead. And it dawned on me that it was indeed morning time! The start of a brand new day. Old things from yesterday are behind, new things are just ahead. And it occurred to me that I had been anxious to get over here.  After just a week of this dedicated time, I was honestly and sincerely looking forward to coming over to get this short yet powerful prayer time in.

My mornings are sacred. Maybe it's because I am not a true morning person or maybe its because I just like to listen to the birds, or maybe, just maybe...its because that is when God is easiest to hear...
+ + +

Ladies, you don't need a she-shed office or an entire room to find your place to meet with God. It can be in your car on the drive into work, it can be...your shower! The only thing you really need is 1) a dedicated time 2) a sincere heart to make an impact on your community and 3) dedication to these two things! If you keep coming, petitioning God, crying out to Him earnestly...He will show up. And when he does, you too will anxiously and joyously ask "Is it morning time?!"

Have a blessed Wednesday

In Christ with love and compassion,

Coach Kelly
